Permanent Residence processing time

Indlæg af abrakadbabra » 24.10.2014 08:34:27

Hi,

The status of my Permanent Residence application is showing as "Being Processed" on the mypage of Immigration Website. I applied in early July.
Can anybody tell me, how much time more can it take from here, if every thing goes right with my application?

Regards

My relative has just received permanent residence almost exactly 7 months after handing in the application. The case was completely uncomplicated. So don't expect an answer any sooner than the target response time of 7 months.
February, in other words....

Hi abrakadbabra,

I also have the same situation as you. Just that my application is two months after yours. It is February now and I am asking if you got the decision already and if so, when did you get decision. I want to know if I should expect decision sooner than the 7 months period.

Most likely not. Immigration Services is currently drowning in applications for asylum and family reunification from mainly syrian Citizens. So in all likelyhood extra resources are being allocated to process these and not applications for permanent residenceship.

But I thought there are always dedicated permanent residence staff working in the perm residence unit making decisions for perm residences. Why should the resources be taken to asylum processing unit.

Because they are drowning in asylum applications, and because it is much more urgent to get those processed. I dont have detailed knowledge, if they have done this, but it would make complete sence.

From work related residence to permanent

Can someone help me with answer to this:
When someone has got a permanent residence after more than five years of living and working in Denmark under the greencard scheme, can the spouse be able to study in Denmark for free. The spouse has lived here for two years and would like to take an education. Is it possible to study tuition free?

Assuming that the spouse has a residence permit which can be made permanent when certain conditions are fulfilled (like the permit of the other spouse), s/he will not have to pay tuition fees.

If the permit was given on the grounds of family reunion, it will be a permit which can be made permanent.

The rules here apply to all universities: https://www.rmc.dk/da/about/studieafgif ... Oycuyl3W24
"Another exception to the rule is made for foreign students with permanent residency in Denmark or
students with temporary residence who have the possibility to be granted permanent residency in
Denmark. You can read more about these rules in the declaration no. 407 of 5th May 2009 from
the Danish Ministry of Culture."

But do remember that exam papers from abroad have to be acknowledged:

The question is who determines which permit can be made permanent. There is of course a form that can be filled out if an accompanying spouse should apply for residence but is it possible to find out a list of residence permits that has the possibility of being converted to permanent? The clause midlertidigt ophold med mulighed for varigt ophold doesn't seem to be very clear.

A residence based on family reunion will always be given as one which can be made permanent.

Other residence permits, which are based on studies, time limited employment (guest professor or soccer player for example) are in principle strictly time limited.

Since your spouse probably has residence permit based on your marriage, it is one which can be made permanent.
