divorce and SU

I am non-eu and from Philippines. I am still learning Danish language and also attending SOSU class but I was married with a Dane for a year and divorced for almost a year now. My residence permit is still valid until May. Now I am so worried about risk of being sent home. Is there a possibility for me to get a permit to stay in other way? And will I be able to apply for SU with this situation? I am left with nothing. Please I hope someone can help. Thanks.

I'm sorry to say but your residence permit in Denmark should actually have been revoked, once the divorce was a reality. Once the divorce is finalized, the authorities ought to have written you and asked if there was any reason why they shouldn't cancel your residence permit. Reasons could be that you have a child in Denmark or that you have a good job and do well with your life in Denmark or that you have remarried with someone in Denmark. Going to school or studying is not a good enough reason for you to remain in Denmark.

There is nothing preventing you from applying for a residence permit based on your education, but the chances of getting it are slim.

Since a residence permit is valid until revoked, possibly you should apply as soon as possible. Whoever forgot (or has not yet come to your file) to write to you about revoking it may just get around to it soon.
