dear sirs or madams ..am happy to find such amazing website where people get free advises from other people.
my situation is a bit confusing ..am an algerian guy ..i am now in france via a tourist visa and later i want to apply for asylum as a refugee and this is the reason why: my brother is a blogger he used to write articles in algerian online newspapers and he was ciriticizing the corrupted algerian invesitigations and then the algerian authorities stopped him and sentenced him to 3 years of jail and since that time me and our family have always been harassed by algerian investigations threatening us to take us also to jail and i have always been fired from any job i try because the algerian authorities are asking my employers to do that..my life was like hell i could not apply for any job or do anything without the investigations harrasing us and i was to go to the court but judigical system here is also controlled .my questions are :
1- can i apply for asylum in denmark or sweden considering my case and story i told u about ?
2-if i can apply for asylum where should i go when i arrive in sweden or denmark ? shall i go to the police or refugee camps or where ?
3.shall i bring all papers and proofs of my brothers being jailed i mean the articles he wrote online and the articles world newspaper wrote on him
4- is there anyone who knows the addresses or refugee camps in sweden and denmark ?or any webiste that can help me find them?
5 will i find where to stay in refugee campls while applying and how long it will take to get an answer and can the gouvernments of denmark and sweden help us with some food or some financial help or i should bring my own money?
i would really appreciate ur answers ladies and gentlmen..thanks in advance for any attemp to read or answer my case.

Re: an algerian man seeking political asylum in sweden or de
There is something called the Dublin Convention, which determine, which EU-country should process an application for asylum. If a country has issued a visa, then generally that country will also be the one to process an application for asylum. So if you apply in Denmark or Sweden, they will in all likelyhood return you to France, so that your application for asylum can be processed in France.
Only if you have close relatives in Sweden or Denmark and none in France can there be a possibility to have your application processed in the country, where your relatives live already.
I am by no means an asylum expert, and neither is ÆUG an asylum organisation. But to me the problems, you describe with algerian authorities, sound a bit borderline, as to weather or not they can result in you actually being granted asylum. I would guess for instance, it might be difficult to prove, that you were sacked from all your jobs because of government pressure.
But if you feel, you have a chance, you should apply in France.

There is almost zero possibility that Sweden or Denmark will accept an asylum application from you. They will return you to France and most likely with all possible haste (within a few days, at most weeks).
In Denmark asylum applicants MUST apply to the police directly. There is no other way.
