4 months...

Indlæg af Sunnyd3791 » 24.04.2013 14:24:48

My husband and I have been living in malmo since Christmas time. We have decided to move back to Denmark since I did not get into graduate school in Sweden and its closer to his work. I was wondering if 4-5 months living in malmo is good enough ?

This is what we have :

1 year lease contract (expires dec 2013)
Swedish residence permit for me
Swedish person number for husband (Danish citizen) and I
Proof of payment of rent 5 months
Bank statements for Swedish and Danish account showing daily activity in Sweden
Receipts for all transactions
Monthly jojo commute card for husband
Gym membership and proof of weekly use
ICA card
Proof that I have signed up for job assistant in malmo
Proof that I have applied for graduate school in Lund
Eu blue cards
Special health card for my husband
Proof of change of address and leave from Denmark ( we had lived in a kolligium)

I have been accepted for a graduate program in Copenhagen starting in the fall so we REALLY need this application to be as best prepared as possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated !!!!!

It looks fine, proof-wise.

You may apply now, and await the response while you stay in Sweden. When you get the hopefully positive answer, you will have app. 6 months to arrange the move back to DK - that is: you are not obliged to move immediately, but may take your time.

Another question...should we include all receipts for transactions while in Sweden or does that imply that we had plans to move back ( since we saved all the receipts from money we spent while living here in Sweden)

Receipts for payments for hire, electric etc. you should include.

Receipts from the supermarket you shouldn't, as they could belong to anyone. If you have been using credit card when shopping it is in any case better to print out bank statements than giving the receipts.

Regarding my acceptance to Copenhagen University... should we include that? I am afraid that they will say that we pre-planned our move back to denmark. I had applied to Lund university in Sweden and got on the waiting list, so I had applied to Copenhagen and got accepted for a masters program that starts in August.

What are your thoughts on this? Should it be included in our application? Could it be a problem if we don't include it? Can it cause a greater chance of us being rejected?

Thanks !!

If anything is not relevant for proving that your spouse and you have had a 'real residence' in Sweden - and in my opinion an application and/or acceptance to a Danish university is not - then don't include it.

My experience is: do not submit information that is not required and/or relevant, do not answer questions that are not asked.

another question..

THe application says that it must be handed in when the danish national has moved to Denmark, or shortly after, so how do apply while we are living in Sweden?

You are allowed to apply before moving - but not to wait, say 6 months AFTER moving.

You apply to Udlændingeservice for a 'forhåndsgodkendelse', an advance approval, and then when you have moved to DK you take the letter with the approval and go and get your residence card (or rather: ask them to prepare it).
