Swedish residence, not married

Indlæg af oca1234 » 08.01.2013 16:20:50

Hi.

I'm writing in behalf of my boyfriend.

I know I have been asking same question in Danish, but for my boyfriend to understand the process we going to go thru, I'm asking the question in English so that we both get the understanding.

I'm a Dane just moved to Malmo and I recieved my person number. I live in a student apartment.

My boyfriend is from Nigeria, we have known each other for 16 monts in all, and we are NOT married. I have visited him several times, he currently lives in tyrkey, I got all tickets and pictures from my trips.

Now the question is:

We will apply for residence by Swedish national rules from his home country Nigeria, online. does is matter what country he is from when they proceed the case? Like is it gonna be harder to get residence because of where he is from?

And can we be sure to get the residence just as unmarried couple or is a hard and impossible way to do it?

And what can the reason be if they reject our application? Is there anything we have to be extra aware of when we apply?

Thanks for your time.

No.

The only sure things in life is death and taxes. It is far from "impossible" to get a residence permit in Sweden as unmarried cupple, but this does add an extra layer of uncertainty or risk, since you need to convince Migrationsverket, that your relationship is genuine and serios.

1) Migrationsverket dont beleive, that you live in Sweden. Sham adresses in Sweden are quite popular among danish-foreign cupples having problems with the danish legislation, and of course swedish authorities are not "born yesterday", so they have picked up on that also.

2) Migrationsverket dont beleive your relationsship is genuine.

3) Your boyfriend is considered to be a danger to the swedish society e.g. because he is on the FBI´s list over most wanted terrorists in the world.

Its a good idea to use the online application process, since it is much faster. Expect about 3 month. Also be sure, that you are available for possible interview during the time, the application is being processed. Its not a good idea to go hiking in the jungle for 2 month and leave your mail unattended.

Thank you for the answers, it is exactly as expected.

I live in a student apartment so that should hopefully convince Migrationsverket, since I study online I don't even leave Sweden at all. I will open a bank account and I'm saving all my recites from supermarket, jojo card and anything else bought over here.

I know there are no garanties in life, but I would rather hear it's far from impossible, than it is impossible, I hope we got good chances. We have been together for 14 months, been kwowing each other for 16. I have visited him 9 times, I got all tickets, pictures etc.

He is not a danger to Sweden at all ;)

Thanks for all :)

Fundiver@

I/we have a last question to ask concerning wether it will be a reason to reject our application, that my boyfriend did not stay in his home country all throug since we applied for his residence. Will it affect the case that he will not travel home untill few weeks before his interview? Tho attent to the interview, in his home country with all documents it requires.

Thank you.

Well, I am not Fundiver, but I think I can answer since I am going to do the something similar.

I can't see a reason for that at all. Actually, Swedish migration board doesn't have access or ask for this kind of information.
