how can I get health insurance in sweden

Hi everyone,

I had applied for residence card on a family tie, now the migrationsverket send me a letter and they are asking for EU health insurance card, basically my wife is danish and she study in Denmark and we live in Malmo. we asked from the revelent offices both in Denmark and sweden about the blue card, but the Denmark says that you will get it from sweden because you live there, and the swedish authoritys says that you will get it form Denmark because you study there and getting SU from there, now we are confused what to do, also I am looking for some private insurance company to get the insurance, so if some one have any idea about that also.

if your wife is danish and you are married, then you can get a blue EU medicalcard from her old danish komune. They might tell you that it is not what sweden is asking for, but it should work anyway......

Your wife doesn't qualify for the Danish health insurance as long as she is only a student. Work in Denmark is required.

im afraid you guys cant apply for the danish health care as long as your wife doesnt work in denmark and pay whats called ATP. Ive been in the situation myself as im a student and i had to find a part time job in denmark to qualify for the blue health care card for me and my husband. Even with a job they still gave me a really hard time in copenhagen at borgserservi ce, i went there 2 times with my work contract and payslips and they magically disappeared so i had to scan and email it to them to finally get an answer. my first application was on oct 10th and to this day i still havent recieved any cards even tho i recieved an email stating i would!! my advise is to apply using the swedish rule set instead of eu at least until you get a chance to apply for the health care. you dont need any health care when u apply using that set of rules. we recieved my husbands work permit while waiting for the healthcare!!

Thanks Aida, ya its true without work its very difficult, so now we are looking for work and we hope very soon we will find some thing, then the problem will gona be solve itself. but any how thanks to all of u guys.
