thank you it really seems easier then silly danish rules. but i do hope that the danish rules will be easier for other married couples in the future so they would not have to be sent to other countries. although i m so thankful to sweden and this site for guiding us thru difficult and unclear situations. we really have learnt a lot and used almost every advice we received here.
we are going to try and both find jobs in gotheborg and will see if after 4 or 5 months we can apply to come to denmark under eu rules.

sincerely
tanya

we have been looking for an apartment so log and still havent found anything to live separately because right now we are with another family, when i was being questioned at the interview in the immigration office in gotheborg the officer didnt like our lease agrement and in eu rules it says we should live in our rented apartment. my husband has been commuting from gotheborg to frederikshavn since march and now we are trying to get him a job there as well as a new rented flat but it is not easy, we want to apply under eu rules to denmark later, my question is when we gather all documents will they mind that before he got job in gotheborg he used to commute and we lived with another family?
how long are we adviced to stay under his new circumstances ?
i travel to denmark by ferry a lot, how long can i be on vacation there if it is not really registed in ferry?

Dear melodisk

At the moment, there are many problems at the EU-office at Udlændingestyrelsen, so it is really difficult to say, what they might "mind". It seems like almost no matter what you do, you risk having your application rejected. So perhaps it is best to just be prepared for this and not speculate so much in advance. If it is rejected, it can be retried at Justitsministeriet, and if they reject it also, you can bring your case to court. And at least the first part of this process, ÆUG can assist you with at zero cost.

Therefore the best advice is to just fullfill the demands and then fight for your right. And put shortly the demand is, that your husband must have "lived" in another EU-country for a period of time. It is not enough, that he just visited there, had a second home there like a vaciation house or had a sham adress.

Having shared an apartment with another family doens´t mean, that you don´t "live" in a specific place. If your husband has income, which Sweden has a right to tax, swedish authorities would obviously just laugh at him, if he claimed, that he doens´t live in Sweden, because he is only sharing an apartment with another family.

hey
i was wondering ,sweden must have the law that should be alike in all swedish cities. why in different cities the waiting time for issuing residence card is different and the requirements too? if one city they require special insurance in another they dont, what it depends on?
we cant find flat in goteborg and searching for a job in kopenhavn anf flat in malmo, i m scared if in the future it will be mess there with permanent residence cards as it is with temporary ones now? or it is already secure when you once have temporary and cpr?

If you already got a 5 year tempoary residence card then I wouldn't worry too much about the requirements you will have to fulfil 5 years from now. If anything they should be the same as the ones you have just met.

But please note you're not allowed to work in Denmark on a Swedish residence card.

Hi hello to all,

I've been following all the conversations here (æug), and we find it very helping since I have same situation. I'm not in Denmark legally but, my danish boyfriend and i are willing to do it (marrying in Sweden). I already have my Birth Certificate and CENOMAR with authentication. The thing is we don't know how to start, that's why we've been calling the office, but we haven't had the chance to talk with.
We are also willing to pay for advices but we don't know how.

Please help us how to start.

Thank you
Regards amanda

Dear Amanda

The counselling phone is open monday and thursday evening at specific times, which you can find under the menu "rådgivning". There you are also find texts, which describe how to move to Sweden.

For now the informtation is only in danish, so perhaps you should ask your boyfriend to take the lead in reading up on this. After all it is him, who need to move to Sweden, and then you can automatically follow.

Malmø is the largest city in southern Sweden and the closest to the bridge to Denmark. For both these reasons, it is very popular among both danes and swedes, so there is a lot of competition for available apartments.

You will have significantly better chances, if you look in other smalles cities in the region. In Landskrona for instance, the rental companies often have vacant apartments for almost immideate takeover, and prices are also lower than in Malmø. The downside is an extra ½ hour transport time, if you need to take the train to Denmark and less frequent departures.

An option might be to get an apartment in Landskrona or another similar small town now and at the same time get on the waiting lists for more attractive apartments in Malmø. These waiting lists might be 2 years or more.

Depending on where your husband wants to work, it is also worth remembering, that their is still a regular ferry service between Helsingør and Helsingborg. So Helsingborg is also not a completely stupid place to stay, if your husband is going to work north of Copenhagen. He can then take the boat to Helsingør and continue the journey with train on the danish side. Or maybe even have a cheap car parked in Helsingør, which he can use for the rest of the trip to work.

hi everyone
i have a qurestion. when a couple applies under eu rules after living in sweden a certain time, i know that danish look at husband employment situation and other requirements, but does it benefit a case if a foregn spouse has a kind of future employer who is willing to hire her. will it give more chances to the case to be aproved in denmark under eu?

No not at all. It is only the legal facts about your husbands rights, that is considered, and nothing else.
