About permanent residence, you must have read something, which is not relevant for your situation e.g. a text describing the conditions for people, who are in Sweden as immigrant workers from non-eu countries. For them it would make sence to require, that they have actually worked, since this is why, they came to Sweden in the first place. But when you are under EU-rules, the right to permanent residenceship is not conditioned by you having worked at all, like mh has just written, while I wrote my reply :D

About travel your residence card should liberate you from the visa requirement in all EU-countries. However please be adviced, that Great Britain and Ireland do at present not follow these rules, even though they should. So if you plan to visit one of these 2 countries, you will either need to apply for a visa regardless of the rules or spend several years bringing the case to court, before you can make your trip without a visa.

And unless you are, what in danish is called a "principrytter", obviously the far easier solution is to just obtain the visa. Or even better punish these countries financially by not going there at all and consequently spending your money and generate a tax revenue somewhere else.

as far as my husband's job i just want to raise a question, he still commuts from gotheborg to frederikshavn 2 times a week until he finds a job in gotheborg. if he does finds great if not a good one, he will continue travelling and gathering tickets, will it affect in some years me being granted permanent card or sweden does not really care where he works as long as he sleeps in gotheborg and can financially cover us both?

Perhaps you misread the following:

• proof of occupation (job, studies, and the like) showing that your family member, who is an EU/EEA citizen, has been supporting him-/herself during the past five years in Sweden

It is your husband as the EU-citizen, who must prove, that he has been supporting himself for the entire 5 years, not you. And no Sweden does not really care, where he works, unless it raises dought as to where he actually lives. Its just the same evaluation, which has already been done, when you applied for residence card in the first place.

No, you can't transfer and get a permanent Danish one just because you have a Swedish one.

So you will start from scratch if you move to Denmark and your Swedish one may become invalid if you're away from Sweden for a longer period of time, typically after 12 or 24 months.

However after 5 years in Sweden you can apply for swedish citizenship and then move to Denmark without any conditions at all, just like when your husband moved to Sweden as a danish citizen.

Quite a few danish-foreign cupples seem to move from Sweden to Denmark this way, only noone know exactly how many, since the origin of swedish citizens moving to Denmark is not registrered anywhere :D

In ÆUG we used to call it "the long swedish solution". And the advantage obviously is, that there is no need for any kind of discussion or application process with danish authorities at all.

ok, i m in doubt what will be the best option. I understand that after i stay in sweden and work there with my husband some months or a year that i can apply under eu rules to come to danmark and get temporary residence there, i checked the list of points one should obtain in order to get permanent residence in danmark after 4 years of living on temporary and it sounds crazy. i must be employed 4 years and do vacational course and do some charity and pass dansk on intermediate level. do i really have to do it all if one i apply after temporary to permanent in denmark
What would be the best option?
mange tak

so does it mean that if i get temporary residence card in denmark under eu rules after 4 years of living there i will get permanent residence under eu rules too just because my temporary was under eu rules?

EU regulations state that after 5 years of living in the same EU/EEA country you will get a permanent residence card provided that you and your family member fulfil the requirements.

The same requirements that you had to fulfil upon your first application for a residence card. You must show proof that you have fulfilled those requirements for all the previous 5 years when you apply for a permanent residence card.

* You must be married
* It must not be a sham marriage
* You must not be a danger to public security etc.
* You must live in the same EU-country as your spouse
* Your spouce must either work, study or have sufficient funds to provide for both of you, so that you do not become a burden for the social security system in your country of residence

Like skaanebo say the exact same requirements, that you had to fullfill already to get a recidence card, only for a continous period of 5 years in the same EU-country.

And yes it really is that simple unlike the national danish rules, which are very complicated :D
