Job offer in DK.

Indlæg af AbeOrtega » 20.03.2012 23:04:16

Hello.

My current situation is the next. I came to Denmark with my wife using the EU rules, my residence permit is still on the process so I wish you can answer this questions.

I have a job offer here in Denmark but I still don't have a CPR number my question is . Can I have a CPR number wile my residence card is still in process ? .

The employer knows about my situation and they said that I could get a CPR number if I show a proof that I have a job offer in Denmark. Is that correct ?

hope you can help me . thank you.

It depends on your nationality. If you are an EEA citizen you can obtain your Danish personal number right away with proof of a work contract. If you are merely a spouse of an EEA citizen you will have to wait for your spouse to get his/her papers in order first and won't be able to get a personal number before you obtain the residence card.

Perhaps if your employer write a kind letter explaining his intension to hire you, Udlændingestyrelsen can be persuaded to enhance your application for a residence card and give it express treatment. This is not a "right" you have, but it might be worth a try.

Otherwise the employer must take the risk and hire you, even you don´t have a CPR-number and face the possibility of a big fine, if Udlændingestyrelsen end up turning down your application ie. on the ground, that it has not been found proved, that your spouse had a "factual and real" stay in the other EU-country. Which happen to quite a few people, so this is very much a real possibility, and particularly if your spouse have handled things a bit loosely.

No
You can open a Danish bank account if you first obtain a Danish samordningsnummer, a so-called co-ordination number that resembles a personal number. You can either ask your bank in Denmark to help you make such a co-ordination number or you can apply for one yourself at the Danish tax office or maybe at Borgerservice. Anyone who wants to make business, set up a bank account or who needs to pay tax in Denmark but who doesn't have the Danish personal number, can ask for such a co-ordination number.
