When best to return to Dkk after being granted permission

I have been granted permission to stay in Denmark under family reunification. I applied in January 2010 right after we got married in Denmark. However, at the time of application both my Danish husband and I had jobs outside Denmark. The permit was granted to me in July this year. I am Asian, not an EU citizen and currently not working in EU countries.

If i come to Denmark in september to sign up at the Kommune does it mean my integration process begins right away and I am not allowed to leave the country. Alternately, if I come home in December for Christmas does that mean I have spent most of the 6 months requirement and would loose my permit. In order not to loose my current permit, i would like to know when it is best for me to return to Denmark, as I have to quit my current job and notify them. I would like to confirm that I will not loose my permit and will be granted to stay in Denmark before I quit my job.

I am in a dilemma as I would like to register at the earliest but am afraid I will not be allowed to leave thereafter. Could anyone help me with this.

You need to move to Denmark in january 2011 at the latest, and starting july 2010 you are only allowed to be absent from Denmark for 6 month every 12 month.

So it is more os less, as you have figured out already. If you move here in december 2010, you are practically not allowed to leave the country again before july 2011.

You can of course also just choose to refrain from using your residence permit and apply for another one, when you are ready to move here. Please note however, that new requirements are being introduced soon in the form of a language test, which must be passed to get a residence permit. Also a new application fee of 4.000 DKK will be introduced soon.
