Har skrevet til den engelske ambassade og fået et meget underligt svar tilbage, det er som om hun skal søge om visum før vi tager afsted?
Er der nogen der kan be eller afkræfte om vi skal have et visum før vi rejser? Evt. sætte et link ind så jeg kan læse om det?

Depending on your nationality and the purpose/duration of your visit to the UK, you may need a visa. Please be informed that since your wife is a visa national she is required to obtain an entry clearance before travelling to the UK. The UK is not a part of the Schengen travel area.
It is the applicant’s decision as to which category of entry clearance he or she would like to apply for. Kindly visit http://www.visainfoservices.com for information on the full range of entry clearances offered by the United Kingdom and make your selection.
Please note that the start date of entry clearances may be post-dated by a maximum of 3 months. For example if you wish to travel on the 1st of December, do not submit your application until the 1st of September.
You may submit an application for a Visit visa or an EEA family permit in any country. Applications for any other entry clearance categories, however, should be submitted in your country of nationality or your country of normal residence.
Please note:
In general terms "country or territory where the applicant is living" refers to the place where a person is present in any capacity other than as a short term visitor and has permission from the relevant authorities to be so.
Information regarding EEA family permit:
Please be informed that family members of EEA (European Economic Area) passport holders may apply for EEA family permits. This is an entry clearance that allows the holder to enter, live and work in the UK. This entry clearance is free of charge and it is valid for six months.
The applicant should include all the documents she can to show that she qualifies for an EEA family permit.
As a guide she should include:
• your EEA national passport; and
• proof of her relationship to you (for example, her marriage certificate); and
• a letter from you declaring that you are travelling with your wife to the UK.
In order to apply for the EEA Family Permit, you need to select “EEA/Swiss Family Member” as the Purpose of Application and “Family Member of an EEA National” as the Type of Application. Please note that EEA Family Permit holders may only travel with the EEA national (enter the UK) or join him/her in the UK.
The application procedure in Denmark is as follows:
Entry clearance applications in Denmark may no longer be submitted by courier or third party agent. You must now submit your application in person. This is because biometric information (fingerscan and your photograph) will be taken at the Embassy in Copenhagen at the time of application. You should obtain and fill out applications online at:

After you submit the application online, you will receive an email with an application ID number. Save this number for future reference. When the online application has been electronically submitted you will be given the option to book an appointment at the available time and date to submit your application and provide your biometrics.

The UK government is collecting biometric information (by means of a photograph and a fingerscan) to help strengthen the UK’s border controls. The measures will also help protect genuine travellers from identity fraud and will speed up their entry to the UK.
You may pay for your application at the British Embassy in Copenhagen in Danish Kroner, only cash payment will be accepted. Please note that visa fees can change at short notice. Kindly visit http://www.visainfoservices.com on the day of application for current fees. The visa application fee reflects the administrative costs of processing an application and is not refundable if your application is refused.
Regardless of visa type, you must submit:
• A passport or travel document (the passport is required for the whole process of the application).
• A recent, passport-sized (45mm x 35mm), colour photograph of yourself:
o taken against a light coloured background
o clear and of good quality, and not framed or backed
o printed on normal photographic paper, and
o full face and without sunglasses, hat or other head covering unless you wear this for cultural or religious reasons.
• The visa fee. This cannot be refunded.
• The correct Visa Application Form (http://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk).
• Supporting documents relevant to your application.
The documents that you will need vary depending on the type of application you are making. You can get information about the documents for each type of application at http://www.visainfoservices.com by choosing the „Visa Information” link from the navigation bar on the left. Include all of the documents and information that you can to show the Entry Clearance Officer (ECO) that you qualify. The ECO will then make a decision based on the information you have provided. You must provide copies of those documents that you wish to be returned.
Please note that it is not possible to obtain an entry clearance on the same day. In many cases the straight forward, non-settlement visa process not requiring an interview takes 10-15 working days. However, the consideration of the application is entirely up to the British Embassy, and the processing times can vary based on the difficulty of the case and other factors.
90% of non-settlement applications requiring interview or further enquiries are decided within 15 working days.

Please note that the British Embassy suggests that you do not buy tickets or make non-refundable travel arrangements until your visa has been issued. You can apply for your visa up to 3 months before you are due to travel. The British Embassy takes no responsibility for lost airfares on non-refundable tickets if your visa is not ready in time. Nor will it fast tracks your application because you have already purchased air tickets.
