The attachment requirement?

Dear all,

I have a question regarding the attachment requirement of family reunification.

I am originally from China and acquired Danish citizenship in december 2016. Now I have lived in dk for 11 years and 10 month...

I took a bachelor and a masters degree in dk as well, but since I graduated last year I've been unemployed and on A-kasse.

I never travelled longer than a month to other countries.

Does my case fulfilled the attachment requirements?

In two months time you would most likely fulfill the attachment requirement. However, if you want family reunion with your spouse, both of you must fulfill the requirement, that is: your spouse must come to DK and have been there for at least 24 hours before you can apply.

Thank you mh. I saw on nyidanmark that either work or study can reduce the 12 year requirement, therefore I thought taking education can reduce the time somehow?

That would only be if you have made an extra-ordinary effort to become integrated in the Danish society - e.g. if your education had been aimed at and enabled you to be of assistance to the less fortunate Danish citizens, and you had actually used it, e.g. by teaching Danish to other immigrants/refugees, and/or if you during your years in DK had engaged yourself in immigrant networking, local and/or national politics etc.
