I have a question regarding the deposit for family reunification. In order to get the family reunification you need to pay something like 54,000 kr as deposit and I understand you can pass certain tests to get the refund of your deposit. As I checked, passing A1 within 6 months will be refunded 21,715 kr, passing A2 will be refunded 10,857 kr and passing the final test will be refunded another 10,857 kr. It seems you will only get in total 4/5 of your total deposit. My question is, what will happen to the other 1/5? Is it possible to get it out somehow or it is just a contribution we pay to the Danish society?

The demand guarantee can also be released if your residence permit has expired, lapsed, been revoked or denied extension, and your spouse/partner can document that you have left Denmark. Any public assistance paid to you must have been repaid.
