Reunification via Danish Child or work permit renewal

Hello,
My work permit expires in July 2024. I also am married to a Dane and have a Danish child. I tried to apply in August for the "new" Family Reunification via Danish child but was refused because I had a valid work permit. I will have to apply next month to renew my work visa but there may be an issue with it due to some possible changes at my company - I am inquiring about that. I would love to have the visa through Danish child so if I needed to I could change jobs and start contributing to an A-kasse while I work on my PD3 for permanent residency (I'll take it in the Fall). Any suggestions on the best course of action.

Can I reapply for the Family Reunification via Danish Child now that my visa will be within 3 months of expiring? Is it better to try to figure out how to extend my work visa even though I may have to change jobs in the next 3-4 months?
