I've now got permanent residence permit. The decision ruling is really fast, though. I sent my application in late July and today I've already got the result
. I'm now thinking of obtaining the Danish citizenship by naturalisation. I've read the requirements and I think most of them are met, except for the residence and citizenship test, for which I have a few questions.
1. Regarding the residence requirement, usually one must live legally and continuously in Denmark for at least 9 years. However, there are a few exceptions, one of which is that if one is married with a Dane for 6-8 years, he/she is already eligible to apply for citizenship. Is it correct? The time span 6-8 years is quite vague to me. If i've been married for 6 years, does it make me eligible to apply?
2. Also regarding this particular requirement, another exception is for those who have got education in Denmark can already apply for naturalisation after 5 years. Is it true?
3. With regards to the test, I read about it and there is a phrase saying 'Kravet om en bestået statsborgerskabsprøve er endnu ikke trådt i kraft. Det forventes, at den første statsborgerskabsprøve vil blive afholdt i juni 2014.' Does it mean such requirement is suspended at the moment and will first be imposed in June 2014?
