Hello helpful forum mates, I am here again to seek advice.

Me and my Danish boyfriend will get married in 2 months time.

I have a 13 year old child living in my country.

After getting married, we are plannng to apply for a Family Reunification while I am in DK, and of course I want my son here with me.

My question is..

Can I submit his application with the supporting documents in DK together with my Application? And no need to submit another set of documents in my homecountry?

And do we need to pay ca 16.000kr?

In short the answer to both questions are yes. Yes you can hand in both applications at the same time here in Denmark under the condition, that your child is here already. And yes the application fee is 7.775 DKK for each application. If your own application is denied, the application of your child will also be denied.

If you have left your child behind, the application of the child need to be handed in at the nearest danish embassy. Or the child can apply for a visa and then apply for a residence permit while here in Denmark.

In any case getting the child here in Denmark will require, that your or another adult bring the child to the nearest danish embassy and apply for either a visa or a residence permit.

You mean that my son must be in DK?

The first time we applied for family reunification we did the ff. steps. btw, Im divorced and Udvist af DK pga, skilsmisse.

My x husband did these. that was in 2007

1. We got married and applied for Family Reunification in DK while I was holding my Tourist Visa.
2. It was approved after 3 months.
3. After 1 month, I submitted an Application in DK for Family Rerunification for my son, where during that time was still in my country. We submitted via Post. and it was approved just after 2 weeks.
4. US in DK sent us approval addressed to Norwegian Embassy in my country, instructing that they could stamp Residence Permit to my sons pas.
5. I travelled back to my country, and submit to Norwegian embassy the approval from US DK and we got a passport with stamped on it.

Then we travelled to DK together.

So during that time, we never submitted an application to my country, only in DK.

You are right. It is possible to submit both forms to the immigration service in Denmark, even the child is not here. Sorry for my mistake.

Thanks for the clarification. Its just that Im a bit confused and sometimes I misunderstood the rules in DK.
