Min kone har lige fået sit opholdskort i Sverige, og om 2 måneders tid er min kone og jeg inviteret til et familie bryllup i England.

I den anledning vil jeg så høre om der var nogen der kunne svare mig på om man kan tage på ferie når man har fået opholdskort?

Hun har et pakistansk pas som udløber til august måned.

Ja England er del af EU

Opholdskortet betyder, at din kone fremover er visumfri ved indrejse i alle EU/EØS-lande samt Schweiz i op til 3 måneder ad gangen.
Det dækker altså også England, som ikke er Schengenland, men 'kun' EU-land.

Bemærk venligst, at din kones pas også skal være gyldigt i et vist antal måneder ud over rejsens varighed. Så det er nok en god idè at sørge for at få det fornyet, inden I rejser nogen steder hen.

Okay, nu er jeg forvirret..

Min mand har en 5 årig opholdstilladelse efter eu-reglerne. Vi var i Irland, der jo ikke er medlem af Schengen, for ca. et år siden. Den gang søgte vi om turistvisum. Siger I at dette ikke var nødvendigt?

Har altid forstået det sådan, at man kan besøge Schengen lande uden problemer, mens man skal søge om visum til eks. England og Irland..

"Din opholdsret afhænger ikke længere af, om du har et visum. Visum er kun nødvendigt for indrejse i værtslandet.

De nationale myndigheder har ikke ret til at kræve anden dokumentation end et gyldigt pas og bevis for din familiemæssige tilknytning…"

Alt dette læser jeg som at reglerne om fri bevægelighed medfører at en ægtefælle/registreret partner til en EU-borger IKKE må afkræves visum, men kan nøjes med pas og enten følges med EU-borgeren eller medbringe sin vielsesattest

TIL mh: gid det var så enkelt men efter denne smøre fra UK ambassades visa service dropper vi at tage til UK. Vi kommer ikke længere end til tolden i luftehavnen uden et visum. Den frie bevægelighed synes kun at glæde inden for Schengen, men der er jo også mange dejlige rejsemål

The application procedure in Denmark is as follows:

Entry clearance applications in Denmark may no longer be submitted by courier or third party agent. You must now submit your application in person. This is because biometric information (fingerscan and your photograph) will be taken at the British Embassy in Copenhagen at the time of application. You should obtain and fill out applications online at:

In order to apply for the EEA Family Permit, you need to select “EEA/Swiss Family Member” as the Purpose of Application and “Family Member of an EEA National” as the Type of Application. Please note that EEA Family Permit holders may only travel with the EEA national (enter the UK) or join him/her in the UK.



After you submit the application online, you will receive an email with an application ID number. Save this number for future reference. When the online application has been electronically submitted you will be given the option to book an appointment at a time and date of your convenience to submit your application and provide your biometrics.

· A passport or travel document (the passport is required for the whole process of the application).

Noget tyder på at England og Irland ikke har implementeret direktivet endnu - eller har taget forbehold . Men det burde jo i hvert fald være nok at fremvise sit pas og opholdskort for at få visum.
