HJAELP! Familie sammenfoering under eu reglerne

Hey everybody, (reply in danish or english)

First I would like to say how helpful this site has been! This is my first post and I was hoping some of you could give me some advise on my situation...

I am an American and recent college graduate. I have been living in Dublin with my Danish girlfriend for the past 5 months and we are hoping to move back to Denmark this summer. We applied for the Family Reunification under EU law hoping that its would be a bit easier than the other forms of getting in. I also have been offered a part time position in the marketing field that my girlfriends dad was able to hook me up with. I presented this with my application. I was told that a part time wouldn't allow me to get a work permit for salaried work.

I feel like we have met the criteria for the FR under EU law pretty well EXCEPT for the fact that we can only prove legally we have lived together for 6 months. My girlfriend lived with me in the states for about 6 months while she was studying abroad there but she wasn't on my lease. I was wondering if any of you guys have heard of people getting accepted without meeting the 18 month rule. I know they said that it sometimes isn't mandatory. Let me know what you guys think!

I have not heard of anyone succeeding with less than 11 months of proven cohabitation. So if you can't prove that you have been cohabiting for something like a year, marriage is the only way to prove you are serious with each other.

While your girlfriend was living with you in the states, didnt she get phonebills, creditcard statements etc on the address?... Some sort of documentation which could prove you was living together as a couple on the address?

The more documentation you can provide them with, the better your chances are for getting this period accepted as cohabitation.
