The Embassy initially notes that since November 2020, there has been an
armed conflict in Ethiopia. The armed conflict has led to certain specific
areas in the country being extremely vulnerable, which are the Tigray
region, the Amhara region, the Afar region and parts of Oromia. Due to the
armed conflict, the security situation in Ethiopia is uncertain and there is an
ongoing economic crisis in the country. There is therefore a high risk that
Ethiopian citizens do not leave the territory of the Member States before the
expiry of the visa applied for. According to the visa practice of the Swedish
Embassy for Ethiopian citizens visas should be granted with caution.
When it comes to your personal situation, the Embassy makes the following assessment. You are unemployed. You have not shown that your financial
situation has been stable over time, or that you have any major financial
assets. Nor have you shown ownership of property or other financial ties to
the extent that it can be considered a strong connection to your home
country.
The Embassy exercise caution when assessing applications for applicants
who have a spouse residing in Sweden.
The Embassy also concludes that you have not previously visited Sweden or
any other Schengen state and subsequently returned to your home country.
Thus, the Embassy cannot draw any firm conclusion regarding your
intention to leave the Schengen area before the expiry of the visa applied
for.
In an overall assessment of the submitted documents the Embassy finds that
you have not showed that you are well established in your home country and
that you will return before the expiry of the visa applied for. Your
application is rejected.
