Extention of a 3 month tourist visa

Dear All

I would like to know if there is anyone that has experiance with extending their 3 month tourist visa for a further 3 months or longer. If there is anyone who can tell me the best way to apply and what the criteria is, if any.

I have been staying with my boyfirend for a month now and want to stay here in Denmark permenantly. so if anyone has any advice or information about rules and regulations as to how I can be able to stay here I would very much appreciate the help

There is a difference between extending a visa and applying for a residence permit.

To extend a visa for more than the maximum of 90 days, only cases of serious illness, death or other humanitarian grounds will be considered.

To apply for a residence permit as a boyfriend or girlfriend you will have to provide proof that you have been co-habiting previously for 18 months or so – or simply provide a marriage certificate. Plus the usual requirements that you can read on www.nyidanmark.dk

Short version: NOT possible.

You can only get an extension, if there are grave reasons, such as you are visiting a close relative who is/becomes terminally ill, you yourself become to ill to travel, or your country and especially your hometown is almost impossible to return to because of war or natural disaster.
