Using Swedish credentials to work in Denmark.

Hi,

Does anyone know weather I'm able to use my Swedish credentials, i.e (CPR-number, bank account) to work here in Denmark whilst I wait for Immigration service to settle my case for family reunification? :?:

If you have a Swedish bank account in Danske Bank you can make a cross-border account in Denmark and thereby get a Danish bank account and possibly also a Danish coordination number (that resembles but isn't a CPR number).

So setting up a Danish bank account is fairly easy but you can't work in Denmark on a Swedish personal number only.

Thanks, skanebo

I should've provided a little more info. I have recently moved back from Sweden and am planning to reside here permanently.

The only reason I've asked this is question is that when I originally moved to Sweden before receiving my 'svensk opholdskort' the people at Skatteverket in Malmø informed me that while my case was being treated I was able to apply for work. And in the event of getting a job, I was told to declare that to Skatteverket and they would provide my employer with a declaration that I was in fact applying for an opholdskort.

Will they do the same for me here?

You can see my situation. I don't want to tred on anyones toes and/or put myself in an illegal situation.

Tak.

In theory you are able to work in Denmark but for practical reasons it remains a theory because the Danish tax authorities are not as welcoming to immigrant workers as the Swedish so you will not be able to obtain a Danish personal number merely by showing a work contract. You will get that number only once you have obtained a Danish residence card.

I understand that I probably can't figure a quick fix solution in getting a CPR - i*ve made peace on having to wait on that. But in terms of employment, do you think it would be enough to show my employer my 'pending application' status?

I'm sorry if this goes beyond your realm of expertise, but I'd really like a job :D

Its rather difficult for anyone to guess, how your employer in particular would react to such a request. Also please see my reply in your other thread.
