Hi everyone I would like to ask some help from you regarding about our situation and moving to Sweden.

Our situation:
My boyfriend is a dane and currently living in Denmark. We would like to get married in Sweden for me to be able to get a Visa Permit and live together. I am currently staying illegally in Denmark as my work permit ended. As we have known anyone doesn't need a visa in Sweden when applying for marriage when the other party involve in marriage is an EU citizen. . He i currently receiving kontant hjælp from the government in Denmark for about 2 years. The problem is he has still a debt to the kommune and we don't know if he need to pay it first before we can apply for marriage/citizenship/visa in Sweden?
In the future we are thinking to go back in Denmark. If so, does he need to convert his danish citizenship to Swedish? or only if we plan to live there permanently?
Also for how long do we need to stay there before we get our approval of staying after marriage? we thought about finding an apartment, does he need to register our adress there before applying for a marriage? Please help.. Thank you so much..

You can easily marry in Sweden and it's not a crime to owe money. But in order to remain in Sweden and get a residence card in Sweden, your husband must either have a job or have sufficient funds to cover both of your living costs.

If your husband works in Sweden, he doesn't need to remain in Sweden more than 10 weeks. Otherwise if he doesn't work, he need to stay about 6 months. And then you can return to Denmark using EU laws

Thank you for your helpful answer. My boyfriend doesn'the have a job at the moment, do you think he can still receive kontant hjælp from Denmark while in Sweden as long as he fulfill the requirements in Denmark for those who are receiving kontant hjælp?
Regarding our a dress before marrying, do we need to register it there first before getting married.. Thank you

That's a big no! He can't. Get him to find a job, then solve the minor details after that.

Otherwise you have to travel home to your own country while your application for a residence permit is pending and your husband remains in Sweden.
