Hi all
I come from Vietnam and I want to apply for Permanent Resident Permit in Denmark before the current rules are changed. Could you please give me advice for my situation.
I came to Denmark in October 2009 as a toursit visa, then worked as an au-pair for a danish family for 1,5 years. In 2011, I took AP education for 2 years in Vejle. After finish AP education I applied for BA- Top up Education in Odense for 1,5 years. In December 2014 I got married with a danish and applied for family reunification visium. The total time I have been living in Denmark until now is 5 years and 9 months, I also passed PD3 prøve last december. According to what I have read from nyidanmark, I meet most of the requirements (5 years living in DK, at least 3 years full time studying, bestået PD3). The only thing that I lack is I need to work or study at the same time I apply for permanent resident permit. Therefore I applied for another BA-Top up education so I can apply for RP.
Do you think I can get the Permanent Resident Permit if I study another BA- Top up now?
I would appriciate any advice. Thanks so much in advance.
Best Regards
A.H

Re: Permanent Resident permit
Hi Annie,
I don't know if the top up BA will help but I am wondering why don't you go for Master? I think then you should be fine to apply for PR.

Re: Permanent Resident permit
Hi JackN,
Thanks so much for your reply, I also want to take the master degree but my BA education was International Hospitality Management then I can only apply for Master degree which related to Tourism(English) or Webcommunication (only taught in dannish). I think it is really hard to find a job with Tourism education background in DK, therefore I want to take another BA Top -Up. However, I think to have a job is better than take another education for applying PR, therefore I will try to get a job.
Have a nice summer holiday and thanks so much for your advice.
Best regards,
Annie

Re: Permanent Resident permit
Hi,
You can always apply for a master program despite not fulfilling the requirement. However, you will probably be asked to take extra classes in order to meet the requirement.
Did you manage to apply for permanent residence permit? Any insights on your question. I am also having the same situation. I applied for permanent residence permit (based on education) yet, according to the rules, I have to be studying or working by the time they reach a decision (somewhere in June 2016). Unfortunately,I have not started on my master thesis and I don t know if I will start soon.
Do you know if this will affect my case?

Re: Permanent Resident permit
Hej Cph
Thanks for your answering. I applied for PR last august and had the job as the same time . Im still working the same job until now. I got a letter last sunday from udlændingstyrelsen. They said that they are considering my case and they need me to send some more information about my education. Therefore i have to wait in the next 2 months. Hope it will Be accepted
. Did you recieve the admission letter for master degree from the school when you applied for PR. I think it will Be ok if you have a permission that you will start the master thesis soon when Udlændingestyrelsen processes your case. I heard that you can Apply for PR when you are getting money from A- kass but I chose to have a job. Good luck with your case and have a nice Winter holidays.
Best regards
