I've stumbled upon this forum and it seemed so helpful so I've decided to ask a few questions too.
I moved to Denmark, to be with my boyfriend(he is a Dane), in November, applied for a residence permit and everything went flawless, I've gotten my permit under the condition that my boyfriend will support me and my expenses and I will not be a burden to the government. We didn't consider the fact that, well.. it might fail and we might not be able to do it after all. I'll be starting Danish classes next week and the job hunting looks a bit gloomy as we live in a small town and there aren't a lot of options for me. I'd hate to leech off the country because that's just not me, but I need some help until I can get enough Danish knowledge and find a job. Is there any kind of help that would fit my situation?
I've looked and researched so much but I am at loss and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do anymore, I'd hate to have to leave because of lack of money.
I forgot to mention that I'm Romanian, therefore part of the EU.

You moved here in November but only begin language tuition now? What have you been doing in the previous 7 months?

I'm afraid there is no financial help from Denmark to be gained. Your boyfriend has promised he will support you financially and that's that. But if you manage to get a part-time job for 8-12 hours a week, then you might qualify to get supplementental social support ("kontanthjælp") from the municipality if your boyfriend doesn't make enough money to cover your costs of living.

Arrived here at the end of November and applied in January so it doesn't interfere with the holidays and such They have sent me a letter in March that was returned to them because apparently I did not exist( just a minor hiccup ) but I haven't heard from the office until I mailed them in late March to which they replied that it usually takes a while for the papers to be processed , mailed them again and they said it was ready, and from that time it was processing time for the CPR and such. I hope that clears it for you

As skaanebo write, a part time job will turn you into a worker, and if your income is below danish kontanthjælp, you can then apply for supplementary kontanthjælp.

Please note however, that we have seen in a recent case about SU, that danish authorities look nok only at the number of weekly working hours but also the size of the salary. If the salary is below the usual danish minimum of about 105 kroner pr. hour, you might not be considered a worker, if you work only 10-12 hours pr. week.

Also if you can find part time work for 10-12 hours pr. week, you can probably also find work with a higher number of working hours. So in reality either you find a job and support yourself, or your boyfriend support you, like he has signed up to do.
