A-Kasse/Permament Residence Permit

Greetings ÆUG!
One of my acknowledges from EU tried to apply for Permament Residence Permit and got refused, because before that he was getting A-Kasse for the whole year (as authorities explained).Is that close to reality?Is that even possible?Or they have changed the rules for application to Permament residence permit?Thank you!

There are no changes to EU residence rules since 2004, when the residence directive (2004-38/EU) was implemented. And of course Denmark can not change these rules, they can only be changed in EU.

It is not possible to say, what is behind a decision in an actual case without reading the decision yourself. So if your friend want assistance, he need to scan it and send it to:

So as i understood it right,For EU citizens dagpenge that we can get for some time,Public debt(For su for example, but my debt is not going to be an SU loan,right?) - all that is not preventing us to get Permament residence permit?

The only condition for that is 5 years of residence right for an uninterrupted period of time. This mean you must have resided in Denmark for 5 years and have been a worker, selfemployed person, service provider, student or self sufficient person for al that time.

A person living from dagpenge from an A-kasse CAN be a worker, but it depends on the surcumstances, so the answer can not be answered in general for only in a specific case.

F.ek in my specific case..
i taking dagpenge from A-kasse and will apply for PR after few months in statsforvaltningen (the whole duration of dagpenge more than 1 year and amount after tax app.11000 to 12000 dk every month)
i am living alone and non EU national (but before married with eu national).And living from last 5 years in dkk.
so what you will say in my case taking dagpenge will consider as worker person.

It depends why you are unemployed. If you just quit your job, because you got tired of it, then you are not a worker any more. But if you were sacked, and it was not your own fault due to some obvious negligation of your duties, then you are a worker, if you are actively seeking new work.

thanks for your reply the reason was my health issued and was operated that why i was unemployed and still on dagpenge as you know it not easy to find new job in dk.
May you share the some web link or like some other website where you read about

i was reading the rule so i did not find there some special rule (for A-kasse) like this....
