Housing Requirement for Family Reunification

My Danish husband and I have been living abroad but have recently moved to Denmark after I was approved for family reunification. I have been granted a Danish residency permit on the condition that we fulfil the housing requirement within 6 months of our arrival in DK. We currently sublet an apartment in Copenhagen but, since it is a sublet, it does not meet the housing requirement. From what I understand we need a dwelling of appropriate size and a 3+ year lease signed by the owner/landlord of the apartment. There is a housing shortage in Copenhagen as it is and getting this type of lease seems nearly impossible as most (if not all) new leases are based on a 2 year term. We are not in a financial position to buy and/or commit to living in one city permanently (obviously we would like to have the freedom to relocate if a job opportunity arises elsewhere in Denmark).
What are our options for fulfilling the housing requirement? Is there any way around the 3+ year lease? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?
