Can I stay and be a father to my child?

Dear ÆUG People,

I have another question. I am the father of a child here. The child is 10 months old, and we went to the Court in Kolding and I signed the paternity form 3, where I accept to be the father, but have very few rights to my child. I see the child regularly cause the childs mother and me are good friends. I am here on a student visa.

So my question is; Is there a way, I can stay in Denmark when my student visa runs out, without marrying the childs mother?

Thank you so much,

If you have a regular contact with your child, minimum see it every second weekend and during holidays etc., you may apply for residence permit in order to keep the contact. The child should not be forced to travel thousand of miles to continue see one of its parents.

Yes, I see my child at least every second sunday, but I can see him more if i want.

It sounds good about the residence permit, but;

1) How do I apply for it?
2) Which requirements
3) Does it give me the right to Work here
4) What about Medical care and other right?

Thank you so much.
