Me and my girlfriend applied for family reunification through Swedish rules in august, you might know me from other topics since this is the 3rd time I write a topic about it.
Today she got a letter from Migrationsverket asking her to answer two questions and send it back. There were some questions about how big is her apartment, he shares with another guy, and strange thing is that I answered exactly that question in my interview in the embassy and I even provided her rental agreement as a proof. I don't know why they are asking for it again.

She studies in Roskilde, and the other question was how many times she goes to the university per week and how (yes, what bus does she take and stuff). I have no idea what does this has to do with the application and what will change if she goes with the 7 or the 3 bus.

This angers me because Migrationsverket website explicitly says that this means my application will take even longer than the already outrageous 10 months said before (it was 7 months by the time we applied and was increased shortly after):

"In some cases, an application can take longer than the times given below. This may be because the Migration Board needs more information for them to be able to make their decision. If more information is needed, your Case Officer will contact you or your close relatives."

Why are they asking it AGAIN? Just to make things longer? This really angers me, one of their questions is already answered and the other one seems completely unrelated to the case. What does that mean, that they are wanting to reject the application on the basis of how many times she goes or not to Denmark per week?
And in terms of waiting, I know, it's hard to say and that no one know, but we are already panicking. The amount of stress, plans we had to change and money I had to spend increased greatly since the day we started planning to live together and they seen to be moving the goalposts back all the time, and this was the last drop, we simply cannot afford waiting until August of next year, they are simply ruining our lives. What does the fact that she got that letter mean? That our application will come back to the end of the pile it will still take 10 months more, since more 2 million syrians asked for asylum meanwhile that? If they are overflowing with work as people say (as the Swedish government doesn't allow them to hire more people in a decision that seems to be more about their ideology, i.e keep some foreigners away from Sweden for longer, than their budget), what's the point of asking redundant and useless information?

Sorry about the angry tone but this is really not fair to us. Does anyone know what does that mean so we can know how damned we are?

You can thank the many Danes who move to Sweden only on paper but not in reality for those questions and all this bureaucracy. The questions are posed to figure out if she is really living in Sweden or if she is simply using the adress but in reality lives in Denmark.

The fact that you share the apartment with another person - even you are a married cupple - makes it fairly obvious to suspect, that perhaps this other person is just helping you with a sham adress. And in reality he is the only one living in the apartment, while you and your wife live somewhere in Denmark much closer to her study in Roskilde.

And if that is the case, then obviously you are not entitled to a swedish residence permit. You need to apply for a danish one instead. So of course swedish authorities have their full right to investigate the matter, before they issue a residence permit for you.

That's not the case. I am not a criminal, despite their treatment, and if you think I am fine about it, after two years in Europe I am more than used to discrimination. She does live there, I already brought her rental agreement and showed the card she uses for commuting in the interview. They have the right of performing every check possible, but not at expense of keeping our lives stuck for more than one year. This is simply ridiculous and inhumane, and I couldn't even list the amount of trouble and pain they created to me by raising the waiting times more than 3 times just to show the "dirty immigrants" who is the boss.

I am not saying, you have a sham adress. I am just explaining, why swedish authorities have a good and fair reason to investigate it. I am sure, it would not have been investigated, if you and your wife had your own regular apartment.

Also you state, that you applied in august. So you have not been waiting for 10 month, you have only been waiting for 4 month, which isn´t really that long. And the fact, that your wife is asked questions now, is a sign, that they have already begun to process your application.

So rather than raising the likelyhood of further waiting time, it is probably a sign, that you can expect a decision to be made relatively shortly after, your wife has answered the questions. And not only 6 month from now, like you have been expecting.
