Dual Citizen
Hi Everyone,
Im writting in behalf of my husband.
My husband is a dual citizen (Italian and Danish). And Living in Denmark since birth.
Here is my questions:
1.) Do you have any ideas what are the requirements needed to apply a family reunification in Italian Embassy here in Denmark? /Or website I can look to.
2. and while we submit the application, Am I allowed to stay in Denmark during the process of my papers, (My current visa almost end).
Thank you for your reply.

Re: Dual Citizen
We wish to stay here in Denmark.
Applying EU rules.
Applying EU rules.
Re: Dual Citizen
Italian law only applies to Italy. So you should only visit the Italian embassy if you wish to live in Italy. If you wish to live in Denmark, you come under Danish laws. And you can't use EU laws if your spouse is Danish.

Re: Dual Citizen
Thanks for the reply.
His Danish Citizen and Italian Citizen, Both. We got married in Denmark and we want to apply to Italian Embassy as a spouse. To get a residency as spouse to live in Italy.
Once I have it, (Residency in Italy) We can apply to stats (DK) using EU rules. Since his in DK now & Danish Citizen as well.
We can choose if we want to use Danish Family reunification or Italian spouse reunification. , Right?
Im confused. Thanks for your idea. Appreciated.

Re: Dual Citizen
You can marry anywhere you like, it doesn't have to be in the Italian embassy. After that you will have to move to live in Italy for approximately 6 months. And then you can return to Denmark using EU laws. Even though your husband has dual citizenship, Denmark will consider him Danish in all matters.

Re: Dual Citizen
The Italian Embassy here in Denmark said its possible for me to get a Italian Residency for 5 straight years.
After we apply spouse reunification.
Meaning if I have my Italian Residency with me and choose not go to Italy and just stay in Denmark with my husband more than 90 days,
You mean, I cant apply in stats using EU rules because my husband is Danish all along too. And even his papers and name is Italian? (Dual citizen)
EU free movement is will not work for me even I have Italian residency?

Re: Dual Citizen
You and your husband MUST move and live in another EU-EeA country in order to use EU laws in Denmark.
