Question about knowing the residence card

Indlæg af radiomaw » 07.04.2014 08:04:28

A person who applies for family reunification in Sweden under both sets of rules (swedish rules, EU rules) and then get an answer that both applications are accepted. Then he gets a residence card.

1. How to know if the residence card he received is under the swedish rules or EU rules?

2. Having both applications accepted, will it affect when that person applies for permanent residence after 2 years because he also has residence under EU rules?

3. And if yes, would it be better if that person calls the migrationsverket to cancel his residence under EU rules and only keep his residence under swedish rules?

4. When that person applied for both rules he wasnt asked to pay any fees, will it affect the application after two years?

5. Uppehållskort = EU rules //// Uppehålls- och arbetstillstånd = Swedish rules ?

1) You can receive two different sets of cards. And by date of expiry you can see if it's issued under EU or Swedish rules. EU cards will be valid for 5 years, Swedish national rules usually for two years.

2) No

3) No

4) No, not if the person in question is cohabiting with an EU/EEA national.

5) Yes.
