Re: how much does a spouse need to earn
There is no specific sum, but rather a condition that the Danish spouse has not been receiving certain kinds of social benefits via the 'aktivlov'.
If the Danish spouse has received 'kontanthjælp' or 'revalidering' or certain other benefits within the last three years, family reunion is out of the question (unless s/he can show certain grounds for dispensation).
However, the authorities will use an unofficial yard stock based on the sums paid as 'kontanthjælp'. Since 'kontanthjælp' is meant to be the minimum sum a person can live on if frugal, an income under that will not be considered sufficient.
If any of you receive any of these social benefits after family reunion, it will affect your residence permit and it may be revoked, or you may not get it extended. The municipality is paying the benefits, and will be informing the foreigner's office.
