Hi everyone,
I had applied for residence card on a family tie, now the migrationsverket send me a letter and they are asking for EU health insurance card, basically my wife is danish and she study in Denmark and we live in Malmo. we asked from the revelent offices both in Denmark and sweden about the blue card, but the Denmark says that you will get it from sweden because you live there, and the swedish authoritys says that you will get it form Denmark because you study there and getting SU from there, now we are confused what to do, the Immigration office also says that if you have any other documents showing that you have a full medical insurance in sweden, so I am looking for some private insurance companies also to get the insurance from them but I havent found, so if some one have any idea about that also .
hope some one will help me out, I shall be vary much thankful for your kind help.
how can I get health insurance in sweden
Re: how can I get health insurance in sweden
Ask your Danish wife to read the posts in Danish on this forum because there are several posts about the problem of obtaining the health insurance card.
As a student your wife will not be able to get the card from Denmark for herself or for her family.
She will not be able to get the card from Sweden either.
And you cannot simply buy health insurance from a private company because it will not be taken into consideration by the Swedish Migration Board.
So the only way to get out of this dead-lock is for your wife to get a job with 8-10 hours on average per week. That way she will be entitled to the Danish health insurance and thereby so will you as her husband.
There is no other way around this obstacle. Except for skipping the application alltogether and apply using the Swedish laws instead. In which case you will have to return to your home country and apply from there. Processing time is estimated to be 3 months.
