Hello,
I am currently unemployed and living in Sweden with my Danish spouse, and I recieved a letter from Arbetsformedlingen offering to give me some sort of extra "unemployment benifits" in the form of something called "jobbgaranti för ungdomar." I went to a meeting about it, where it was explained, as far as I understand, that this would give me extra coaching and training when it comes to finding a job, it would ensure that whoever hires me gets paid by the Swedish government double what they pay me, it would offer me some different study opportunities, and it would increase the amount of financial aid money I am entitled to recieve while unemployed and searching for a job. I will also be required to attend certain "activities" of some sort that I did not fully understand, where I will presumably recieve said coaching and guidance, and if I do not attend I will be kicked out and uneligible for any part of the program. On the other hand, if I don't join the "jobbgaranti för ungdomar" program, I will be taken out of all unemployment benifits, I won't be able to get help or coaching from anyone at Arbetsformedlingen, and there will no longer be any option available for me to recieve any sort of financial aid money as an unemployed resident who is looking for a job. This is all as far as I understood it, my Swedish is a little rusty so I may have missed some stuff.
Anyway, I am writing here because, as far as I understand from other posts, if I ever would like to move back to Denmark using the methods outlined here, I should not accept any sort of financial aid from the Swedish government as that would greatly hurt my case. As such, I have thus far been recieving no sort of financial aid from Sweden for my unemployment. I am worried about signing their paper and joining the "jobbgaranti för ungdomar" program because it might look as if I am recieving financial aid from Sweden. Does anyone here know if the Danish government would look at this program as some form of financial aid? Or would it look worse for our case if I simply do not sign it, and am taken out of all unemployment benifits?
As it is, I don't see much reason for me to want to get into this program, since I do not want any financial aid money anyway, and I am hoping to start schooling sometime soon, in which case I won't be looking for a job as much. Also, I really don't like signing papers that I don't fully understand. Anyway, the deadline is tomorrow, so if anyone has any advice for me, and if anyone knows if it could hurt my case by joining, or not joining this program, please offer your comments! I appreciate all the help.
If anyone wants more information on the "jobbgaranti för ungdomar" program, here is the link to some information about it on the arbetsformidlingen website.

Re: Quick question about financial aid and unemployment
Your worries are unfounded. It is the financial situation of your danish wife and not yourself, that is important. And moreover unemployment benefit is not a social benefit but a work related one, since you must have worked in order to qualify for it. So even if it was your wife, who recieved this, it would not influence her right to EU-residence in Sweden and hence also not your right.
It is only, if one or both of you receive "socialbidrag" in Sweden, that this could have a negative impact on your wifes status as a self supporting person under EU-rules.

Re: Quick question about financial aid and unemployment
Thank you very much, fundiver! That was a superquick reply! So, from what you posted, I am able to receive financial aid money and all the benifits that the Swedish government offers while I look for a job, and it won't hurt our case for moving back to Denmark whatsoever? If that's true that would really be nice! I just want to be absolutely sure, because I would be devestated if we go to move to Denmark, and are denied residency due to a small amount of unemployment money...

Re: Quick question about financial aid and unemployment
No it should not hurt your case. In fact Udlændingestyrelsen will not really look at your financial situation in Sweden at all, only at that of your danish spouse.
Re: Quick question about financial aid and unemployment
Great, that's really good to know. Thanks a ton!
