I would like to ask people here about the CPR number given by the kommune to foreigners in Denmark.

Sir I was given a CPR because I was married with a Dane. But in October 2010 My Reisdence permit was cancelled pga skilsmissen. Me and my son was sent back to my homeland in November 2010.

last February of 2011 they grant me a Tourist Visa and I came to Denmark and visit my boyfriend and her mother for 3 months.

While Im still in Denmark, The hospital sent me a letter that I need to come to my Doctor because they want to check my eyes (Ive been thru with an eye operation when I still have my Res. Permit).

When my xhusband sue me, I applied for a fri process and I was granted a fri process and thank God I won the case.

When my husband dont want to agree for our Divorce because he want me to pay him alimony, it was sent to the higher court, and again I applied the fri process , and they gave me the same... Thank God..... case still on going

After 3 months of stay in Denmark, I travelled back to my country.

Today while reading about Denmark.. It caught my attention about the Skat and the CPR rules.

As I understood, I can still use my CPR even I am out of Denmark, provided that I will return to Denmark before the 6 months end. I am planning to return again in September, right after the 90 days grace period to travel again as tourist.

What about my Skat? I do not have work now, I just use my savings for our everyday expenses here in my country. Do I need to pay extra amount to skat even I am not working? I am still using the address of my boyfriend in Denmark.

Please help.

Before I forgot, I still have a small amount of money with my Bank in Denmark to be used for the application of a new Res Permit, after I got married with my boyfriend.

I really love Denmark eventhough the rules is very tight, in fact I used computer from Denmark, and I never change the settings such as time etc. even I am here in my country

According to the Danish CPR-system, once you have been given a CPR-number it is yours for life - it will only be changed if you undergo a sex-change operation (because all male numbers end in the 'un-even' digits, all female in 'even') or if you as part of a witness protection program get a new identity.

That you have a CPR-number does NOT mean that you can avail yourself of the Danish health insurance system however. Since you do NOT have a residence permit, you will have to pay the full cost of any kind of examination or treatment by doctors or dentists. That you got a letter calling you to an examination must be due to your not having informed the hospital that you are no longer resident in Denmark, and does not mean that you do not have to pay. It may get 'drowned' in the system, but in theory you may get a bill. It may be covered by your travel insurance, however, depending on the urgency.

Almost anyone, who is working in Denmark or has income from Denmark has to pay tax to Denmark, regardless of whether they ever set foot in Denmark If you have income from your savings (interest), you are in theory obliged to pay tax of them. However, unless you have a substantial sum, the interest will be next to nothing, thus there probably isn't any taxable income.

The 6-month rule you mention does not apply in your situation. It only applies to those who have a valid residence permit, but go abroad from Denmark for UP TO 6 months intending to return, that is: keeping their home in Denmark available.

Your residence permit has been cancelled as of October 2010 and does not exist anymore. According to law you do not have a home in Denmark. The only connection between your CPR-number and your old residence permit and any future residence permit will be that your CPR-number on it will be the same.

Sorry, but I thought if US cancelled permits, they are the one who will inform to the government offices about the status of the foreigner.

What will happen if I will apply for a family reunification next time, will it affect to my application?

You should report your current address abroad to Folkeregistret/Borgerservice in Denmark so that you will receive all your mail from authorities, banks and insurance companies and others that have access to the public registry to your current address abroad.

If you wish to apply for a new residence permit your previous stay and marriage with a Dane may raise suspicion if it was short-lived. It entirely depends on the reasons for your divorce.

I been married for 2 1/2 years . I received a legal separation bevilling last Jan 2010, after six months of being separated, I applied for a divorce, but he was not agree and case was forwarded to the higher court. Then Feb 2011, after 1 year of being separated I applied for a divorce again, then he was not agree, because he wants an alimony, he knew that my income is only 220.000kr om året, The case is still on going...

Since our separation, I am living with my new boyfriend in Denmark, then when US cancelled our permits we travelled back to my land on time, and return to Denmark as tourist, while my son stay in my country.

Sir, I am planning to return to Denmark after 3 months, so you mean, I dont have the right to use my boyfriends address? We are planning to get married as soon as the court grant me a divorce. We lived together for almost 1 year plus 3 months as tourist.

If you have no current residence permit and if you are outside Denmark for more than 6 months of a year, you should be listed as residing abroad with your current address there. You have an obligation to report your address yourself to the public registry.

I just sent an email to the kommune informing them that we already out of Denmark, and I hope no problem will arise when we apply for a new residence permit.

You may not register at Folkeregisteret, unless you have legal residence in Denmark - that is: residence permit. You are obliged to report that you left the country. It is optional whether you inform of your address in the country you move to, but especially in your case, where you have an ongoing court case in Denmark, it is to your advantage.

You may register at the post office as c/o - your boyfriend's name and address.

The Foreigners Office (Udlændingeservice) does have - or did at least, a small unit which is checking up on whether people who no longer have a valid residence permit have reported themselves as having emigrated from Denmark, and have left the country. However, this unit works quite slowly.

Me and my lawyer agreed that we can just communicate thru email, so its more easy and fast, because if they will send it via post,, it took 2-3 weeks, and sometimes letters from other country is being misplaced... We have a bad system when it comes to postal offices.

That is also a good idea to register at the post office as you said c/o my boyfriend, I will try to find how to do it. thanks

I think I did my best to at least follow the rules in Denmark, by means of travelling out of Denmark when they cancelled our Permits, and since they gave me a Tourist visa, I also left Denmark on time. I just found out today about this CPR issue thats why.

Anyway, a million thanks to you.... more questions to come in the future

Hello everyone, Its me again

After being reported myself to Folkeregister that me and my son are not living in DK anymore, I am thinking about the Børneopsparing of my son. We still have bank account in DK.

Rules is, we can just withdraw the said money when child is 18 years old. But what about our case. can we havew the money now? (My son is 13 years old)

And what about my upcoming feriepenge, because they will deposit it to my account in DK on july 2011.

Please help me on this.

Don't worry about your account, you may legally have all the bank accounts you want in Danish banks.

It may be that you should go to your bank and show them your passport and, if you have one, your address abroad. I (Danish citizen) and my husband (foreigner with Danish CPR), both of us living outside of DK, were both asked to give our passports for copy, and write down our address, when we visited our bank last year.

As far as I know you will have to pay some sort of 'fine' to the bank if you withdraw your sons 'børneopsparing' before time. And there is no reason why you should, unless you are in financial trouble.

In most cases you may not withdraw a 'børneopsparing' before the child is 14, or before 7 years have elapsed since the account was made.

I informed the bank about the cancellation of our permits and they dont ask anything about it. But everytime I need money, I just sent email telling them to please transfer a small amount from my account to my account here in my country....

I will just retain the money on my bank accounts in DK
