Hello everybody

I am a eu citizen living in Denmark with permanent residence under EU law.

In late 2023(nov) ,early 2024 I met a Filipina online and we really hit it of. So much so that in 2024 I flew there(my passport can prove it) and I stayed there with her at her church 3 and a half weeks. In that timeframe I met her family and friends I decided to propose to her so I got her a ring and a promise I will come next year to marry her.

In 2025 this summer I flew to philipines and we organized a wedding and did all the paperwork according to Filipino and my countries laws in order to get married there,we had a wedding,a lot of people and good times.We used a company to assist us with the paperwork as it was a bit overwhelming . I was there 4 weeks this time

When I came back to Denmark I had send original marriage certificate and I registered our marriage in Denmark. We then applied for spouse visiting visa under EU rules and it got approved,she got a 3 month visa here from December to early March.when we applied we said we don't want to do fam reunification because we know saying that would get us denied.

When she arrives to Denmark we of course want to do family reunification and I have a few questions and maybe we get be guided so it was be as smooth as possible.

FACTS ABOUT US FIRST
We are both 28 and 29
No kids
I am working full-time with a Brutto monthly wage of 28000 dkk(before tax) in Denmark from my first job and another 2000 dkk before tax from my second
I live in a 1 room apartment of 30 square metres but the landlord gave permission to have my wife there and registered

When is the best time to apply for family reunification during the visa period ?Is there any issue if we apply maybe a week after her arrival ?

Does the fact we never lived together affect us? In the application form should I write that we never lived together ?

Is my wage enough ?

What happens if I lose my job during the application or after and have to go on akasse?

Are we called in for interview ? If so what are we being asked? (I don't know the names of all her 9 brothers )


Any other tip you may have regarding family reunification under EU law for me (EU and my wife(non EU) ) please write those down here

Sorry for the late answer first off.

I want to correct one thing: When under EU law, nothing prohibits you from telling the authorities, what the real purpose of the visa is. Because when exercising EU law (and more specifically EU Directive 2004/38, as you do), it is the main purpose of the visa to get family reunification. Moreover, the visa is a RIGHT, and can ONLY be denied if the authorities can prove, that you address here is fake, your romantic relationship is fake or any of you are a personal, present threat to public security, public health or public order.

Article 10 in the said Directive states, that your spouse have at least 3 months after her arrival to apply for family reuinfication (application form OD1/A). In a case law from April last year, a third country national woman waited 10 years to apply, and still was admitted by the Court. So she can never be too late.

How big/small your apartment is, is irrelevant when under EU law. As long as both of you can be registered there.

No, it should not affect your application, that you have never lived together. Most couples has not done that. The authorities are more curious on how well you know each other and you family-in-law respectively.

Your wage is good. No need to worry there. Even if you loose your job and go to your A-kasse, you're still good to go.
