Hello, according to nyidanmark the following is possible:

Personal situation taken into consideration
If you have residence permit on the grounds of family reunification with a person, who is not a refugee

If your personal situation indicates that revoking or denying extension of your residence permit would be particularly traumatic, the Immigration Service will not revoke or deny extension of your residence permit.

Some of the things the Immigration Service will consider are:

Your attachment to Danish society, including the duration of your residence in Denmark
Your age, health, and other personal circumstances
Your attachment to others in Denmark
Consequences to close family members living in Denmark
Your attachment to your home country
Whether returning to your home country would endanger you

I haven't seen any advice on this option, but has anyone tried it before and succeeded?

We have seen cases where people who have been employed since they moved to the country and spoke fluent Danish managed to keep their residency. Since you don't seem to have at least one of the criteria, you will most likely lose your residence permit.

This is the kind of answer I needed to read, I believe I can get my old work position back (full time permanent contract) and at least pass the language test 2.

Another question, what kind of permit would be granted in the grounds of a divorce?
