Dear ÆUG
Thank you for having such a great forum where there are so many good questions and answers that I wish I could know long time ago. After trying to find questions around on internet regarding to my case but I could not get much info since they are all in danish, I hope you can give me some advice regarding to the skat fradrag. Here is my overview
My wife visited Denmark multiple times in the past and the last time was on October 2017.
We married in Aarhus November 2017. I submitted my family reunification on December 2017.
We got positive answer on April 2018 with her CPR nr in the letter.
My question is
Now my wife has her CPR nr, I read around that I can claim back her skat fradrag from the day she arrived DK, I suppose that was from October 2017. I don't know if this is true to say so since my danish language is very limited when I tried to read law, act...
If this is true, I would appreciate if you can advise me how should I do it? Plus how to use my wife's skat fradrag from this year since I am the only one who is working in the family.
Thank you very much for any inputs of your time and I wish you are all having a great day.
Best
Jacob

Re: Skat fradrag from my wife
You click on the link below, and print out the decision it leads to, bring it to 'borgerservice' and ask for a revision of your tax for 2017, explaining that you want to make use of your right to use your wife's tax reduction.
At the same time you ask them to give you your wife's tax reduction for this year, and explain that she is not working yet.

Re: Skat fradrag from my wife
I think the tax officials in Aarhus are familiar with the procedure. But do check whether they give you the reduction for all of 2017, as you are entitled to get for the whole year.

Re: Skat fradrag from my wife
Hej mh
Tak for sidst!
I was in DOKK1 and they advised me to write to SKAT, I did 2 weeks ago and got the answer this morning.
In the email they wrote "jeg har derfor ændret din årsopgørelse for 2017, således at du får overført personfradrag fra din ægtefælle."
I log in SKAT and saw they have updated my årsopgørelse for 2017 but I calculated I got only about 4 months fradrag from my wife's.
I do some researches on SKAT website and I saw personal fradrag in 2017 is 45000 kr. So, do you have any idea why did I got return only 4 months instead of the whole year? Thanks.
Regards,
Jacob

Re: Skat fradrag from my wife
The 45.000 is not what you are entitled to, it is the amount you can deduct from your taxable income.
If you got about 17.000, it is correct.
