Hi

Congratulation with almost getting there :)

1) As for which bank to choose I do not know. I have my account in Danske Bank and it did not cost anything to make the Bankgaranti.

2) As for delivering the letter in person, I can tell you we did that. Mainly because the Danish post system is so slow, so I would worry too much about if the letter got lost. I am a person who easily worry ;)
I went and signed the papers in the bank with the bankassistent and the bank make the closed account needed. Then I hand delivered the papers to the jobcenter (in København the papers have to be delivered to the jobcenter for integration, but that might be different where you live). The address is in the papers you have received about the bankgaranti.

3) Your 3rd question about registration before 6 days is when you get the permit to stay. Then you have to register your address at the borgerservice within 5 days.

After you get your permit to stay the most important thing is to do the Danish test within the 6 months.

All the best to you :)
Dorthe

There is no preferred bank and yes, some might charge you if you don't have the money for the deposit. Because: this guarantee can be two things: the bank giving you the credit that it is going to land you the money in case you need it (they might charge for it) OR you have the money and simply transfer it to this locked account (no charges). Just talk to your bank and they'll know what you are talking about. That's a common procedure for them.

After you got the papers from the bank for your guarantee, go to the commune and deliver it in person. This way you know for sure they received it. The commune will send it to Udlændingestyrelsen.

If you are a smart person you have been studying Danish while you were waiting your permit. Schedule the Danish test as soon as possible (I recommend going for the PD2 to get most of your money back) and be done with it. Now use the time you have saved to study Danish in some sprogskole and get the PD3. You are one step closer from your permanent resident permit and got even more of your deposit back.
