Renewal of Temporary Residence
Hi there! I'm about to renew my temporary residence permit after the first 2 years, and have a couple of questions. My passport expires in March of 2020, meaning that my residence permit can only be extended until December of 2019. Correct? My economic guarantee lasts until February of 2020, which w...

Dual-citizenship child with Danish mother, born in Denmark
Just a quick question about the law that says that Danish children who are born as dual-citizens have to sign a declaration when they turn 22 to maintain their Danish citizenship. I'm an American married to a Dane, and our daughter was born in Denmark, but also has American citizenship through me. A...

Integrationsprogram
I have just received my residence permit and we have been reading information about the kommune's integrationsprogram. (It's a bit annoying that we had to find that information for ourselves; this is the first that we have heard about it!) They mention that the program is an average of 37 hours per ...

Re: CPR - number?
Ok, so I received my CPR number in the mail today, so I guess there's no problem. Very strange, though.

Re: CPR - number?
Thanks! We went to Borgerservice and they said that it was unusual that we didn't get more information from Udlændingestyrelsen, but that they would register my address and get me a CPR number. The following day, we received a packet in the mail from Udlændingestyrelsen with information about my res...

Re: CPR - number?
Ok, thanks!
So can I work like the card says? And what about taking Danish classes? Will the kommune let me know about that or do I take care of it myself? Sorry, I just assumed there would be a packet of information about all of this stuff along with the residence card.

CPR - number?
So I just received my residence card in the mail! (For those interested, I sent in my application in late October). My question is: how do I get a CPR number? We figured that it would be assigned at the same time as my residence permit, but there was no mention of it in the very brief letter (two se...

Residence Permit Processing Time
We submitted my economic guarantee to the municipality on Feb 9th and have not received any new updates from the authorities since then. When we look my case on Ny i Danmark, it merely says that the case is being processed. It seems like 6 weeks is a long time for them to take with that last bit, bu...

Re: Question about økonomisk sikkerhed
Ok, thanks! That's what I thought. A minor question: the amount of the financial guarantee on the forms they sent us is 51.714,40 kr., but the amount named online is a little higher, 52.490,12 kr. I'm assuming that the amount they named in the forms they sent us is fine, but it never hurts to check....

Tilbagerejsetilladelse?
Hi, it seems like my residence permit has been approved pending the financial guarantee. We just received a letter in the mail from Udlændingestyrelsen that my application is under review and that I shouldn't leave Denmark until the case has been completed. The problem is that I am in the US right n...

Question about økonomisk sikkerhed
I have been approved for my residence permit " under i øvrigt uændrede forhold ", and now just need to take care of the the financial guarantee. We have a question about bilag 4; is this something that we should have the bank fill out, or is it something only to be used in the event of my extending ...

Re: Submitting FA1 form abroad vs in Denmark on tourist visa
Thank you for all the help! I submitted my application in October (in Denmark), have not received confirmation yet and am going abroad again at the end of this month. Do I need to let Udlændingestyrelsen know that I am leaving for reasons other than letting them know where to send their response? I'...

Re: Submitting FA1 form abroad vs in Denmark on tourist visa
Ok, thank! One more question: if I turn it in while in Denmark, is it still ok to leave even if I haven't received a response, or do I have to stay (even if it's beyond the 90 days) until I get a response? I have work in the States for a couple of months after the 90 days are up and have to come bac...

Submitting FA1 form abroad vs in Denmark on tourist visa
I am ready to send in my application and will be in Denmark next month on a tourist visa (at least, as a tourist; I am American, so am part of the visa waiver program). If I apply now, will it be ok that I enter while my application is pending? Or should I wait until after I'm in the country to appl...
