Traveling
Hello :) I am just curious how things work regarding traveling. I'm pretty sure that traveling within the EU shouldn't be a problem as long as I always have my passport (which is a South African one) and my Danish residence card with me. But how does it work with other countries? Do I still have to ...

Hello
So, some good news: my residence card has been approved and I have my cpr-number. I read somewhere that I will be entitled to Danish lessons but not sure if that's true. Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm really excited to take the lessons but I'm not sure how it all works...

Re: Registration as partner: EU member
Thank you for your reply mh. It was very helpful :) Now I have a new question: my husband had a bad conversation with his boss and now he fears that he'll lose his job. What consequences does that have for us? From what we understand, my right to stay here is based on the fact that he has a job (and...

Registration as partner: EU member
Hello:) I have asked questions here before and got wonderful answers. Now I have some more: My husband and I recently got married and we immediately went to register me as his wife (he's an EU-member and I'm from South Africa) and we've been informed that we have to go for an interview at the end of...

Re: Family reunification
Thanks! Appreciate it
New question: if I do happen to get my registration card before my visa expires, am I allowed to stay? Or should I stick to the date on my visa, go back to SA and enter Denmark again?

Re: Family reunification
What I need to do is correct? And how about his work contract or contract for the apartment? Or is that already in their system? Someone said that we must go to the "Statsforvaltningen" where he got himself registered but according to him, he just went to the Radhus in town... Is it best to just go ...

Re: Family reunification
Ok, so I go to the "Statsforvaltningen" with a copy of my passport, 2 photos and our marriage certificate and I fill out the application form. Does my fiancé (very soon to-be husband) need to take anything with? Passport? His certificate of registration? I don't find it to be clearly stated on the w...

Re: Family reunification
Thank you. I am interested in learning it but it's good to know that I'm not obligated.
Thank you to both of you for your responses.

Re: Family reunification
Yes, the Danish language. Does it mean that I am not obligated to learn and pass it within 6 months (or whatever the case might be)?

Re: Family reunification
Ah, awesome! Thank you
Last main topic I'm a bit stressed/worried about is the Danish. How does that apply to me/us once we are married?

Re: Family reunification
Understood! Bit of a unrelated question but when I arrived in Denmark, was I supposed to register myself anywhere to the authorities? I know in Holland you have to go to the alien police but not sure about Denmark (and it just popped into my head). Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks again for...

Re: Family reunification
Hi!
Is it really that simple?? I can hardly believe it!!
Just one more question: I saw in many posts mention of proof of "cohabitation". This will not apply to us once we are married, right?
Thanks so much for your assistance

Family reunification
Hi all!! I know there are many posts about family reunification but going through them all is very overwhelming and after a few everything becomes very unclear. So I'm just going to post my unique situation here and ask for advice. I am from South Africa and my fiancé from the Netherlands. He's been...
