Advise on our family reunification case
Advise on our family reunification case
Hello everyone!
I really need help with my family reunification (FR) case. I am a naturalised danish citizen and my wife is from non-eu country.
we applied for the FR in summer last year (2017) when my wife was on a short visa, then she got procedural stay. First we got 10 months waiting time and then our case deadline has been extended for 3 months and now 3 months has passed, we still hasn't got anything - in more than a year of waiting time. Tried to call US and they said they were really busy with all the FR cases... so I needed to be patient...
As far as I see it, everything is fine with our case: we live alone in our apartment, not sharing anything and we both fulfil other requirements, except that my income is around 12k per month, not particularly high here in DK. But as I remember, there are no exact requirements on how much you have to earn to be a sponsor of a FR case, as long as you don't receive some type of benefits, which I haven't.
Here comes the question: does my income level play a role in our case being delayed for soooo long? If it does, can we get a rejection simply because of this?
I'd really appreciate any comments, suggestions and advises. På forhånd mange tak!
Mvh, fortunate

As long as you have not received ‘kontanthjælp’ or other income support via ‘Aktivloven’ for the past three years, and still do not, it is not relevant that your income is low.

Thanks mh. The process of our FR case is taking too long, which keeps me wondering what is going on - if we misunderstood something... It's good to be reassured about it.
Re: Advise on our family reunification case
May I ask it is normal to have waited for more than a year and still hasn't got a result?
How can it be that they need so long time to process a case which in my opinion is quite simple - no kids, no debts, no public help...
Sometimes my feeling is that they are simply putting our case away and ignoring it. I've seen so many cases here on the forum that ppl applied later and already got their yellow card. It feels bad that everybody is moving on and we are exactly where we were 15 months ago...

I have no idea, but there are others in here who have waited about a year too.

Re: Advise on our family reunification case
May I ask another question: I received a letter today from US asking me to provide information regarding my education diploma and proof that the education was in Danish, but my education was in English. Is this going to be problem for our case?
